LAKE NASSER CRUISES
ASWAN TO ABU
SIMBEL

The construction of the Aswan High Dam to control the floodwaters of the
Nile led to the creation of Lake Nasser, often referred to as the Nubian
Sea, which mostly lies in Egypt. These floodwaters would have buried great
monuments were it not for UNESCO, which organized a rescue involving 54
nations over a 20-year period. The movement and reconstruction included
the extraordinary Abu Simbel and Philae Temple.
The shores of Lake Nasser are virtually
uninhabited and visiting these monuments by ship is a very peaceful
approach. To date, there are only five vessels cruising Lake Nasser, and
the luxurious cruise ships, the Eugenie and Kasir Ibrim are designed for
distinctive travelers.
