From those in love with the stories of the ‘Jungle Book’ and a taste for the wilderness, this is the perfect itinerary. Covering India’s most significant national parks, this holiday is deigned for those who answer the call of the wild!
Day 1 Arrive Delhi and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Delhi. Visit both Old and New Delhi and learn the history of this amazing city that was home to seven different dynasties. Visit the Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and much more.
Day 3 Fly to Nagpur and transfer to Pench National Park. Check in to your hotel and go for an afternoon safari into the park. Famous for its wide variety of bird life, the park is also home to deer, monkeys, wild board, jackal, leopard, sloth bear, wild fox, wild dog and of course the famous but rarely seen tiger.
Day 4 Enjoy another game safari this morning before driving to Kanha National Park. Located in the central Sapura Hill ranges, Kanha is one of the largest parks in the area and offers great tiger viewing opportunities. Apart from the tiger, the park is home to the largest remaining population of hard-ground barasinghas (swamp deer). Enjoy an afternoon game safari where you could see common langur, rhesus monkeys, wild boar, Asiatic jackal, Indian bison, sloth bear and much more.
Day 5 Enjoy morning and afternoon safaris in the park.
Day 6 Two safaris are reserved for today, you can choose to indulge in one of the many activities offered by the resort.
Day 7 Morning departure for Bandhavgarh. This national park is tiny compared to Kanha with a core area of only 66 sq. miles resulting in the highest population density of tigers in the region. This was the private hunting ground of the Maharaja of Rewa and is thus teeming with wildlife. Much of the animals and birds seen in the previous two parks are also seen here. The park is home to many families of monkeys and during the evening safaris you can watch an entire congress of monkeys on a tree interacting and socializing.
Day 8 Wake early morning for the morning safari. Return to the resort for lunch and then enjoy time at leisure. This afternoon depart for another safari till sunset.
Day 9 Two safaris are reserved today; you can also choose to indulge in one of the many activities offered by the resort.
Day 10 This morning drive to the city of temples and see the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kandariya Mahadeo – the most significant of the Western Group of Temples.
Day 11 Fly to Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest living cities, a most pious of Hindu cities and the birthplace of yoga. It is the city of sunrises and saints. This evening visit Sarnath where Gautam Buddha delivered his sermons to his followers. Enjoy a soul stirring prayer ceremony on the Ganges and watch the priests invoke the Gods to seek their blessings.
Day 12 A boat ride on the Ganges this morning allows you to imbibe the true spirit of this great city. Watch as the temples, homes and schools awake with the morning sun. Visit the famous Vishwanathji Ki Gali a crowded market full of shops selling every color of bangles. Board your flight to Delhi.
