SINGAPORE
A dynamic and vibrant city where East meets West in a
rich melting pot of Chinese, Malay, Indian, Arab and British influence and
culture. From its beginnings as a Malay seaport in 1297, Singapore has
become a thriving center of commerce renown for its modern skyline of
high-rise buildings, excellent varied cuisine, shopping, gardens,

There’s
a delightful array of sights and sounds, flavors and cultural contrasts to
explore in Singapore including historic Colonial Singapore; the ethnic
enclaves of Chinatown and the Arab Quarter, the spice filled air of Little
India; the shoppers paradise of Orchard Road; the restaurants and
nightclubs of Boat Quay and Clarke Quay on the restored Singapore River
waterfront; the outstanding Jurong Bird Park, Singapore Zoo and Night
Safari, and Sentosa Island amusement park.
SINGAPORE CITY STAY

Day 1: Arrive Changi airport and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Half-day panoramic city tour.
Pick up times from your hotel: 8:30am or 1:30pm, regular coach tour (3.5 hours).
You
will be introduced to the old and new Singapore. You will see the city’s
old colonial heritage in all its splendor with a drive past Parliament
House and the imposing Supreme Court and City Hall that overlooks the Padang,
the venue for many state occasions.
Next a stop at the Merlion Park for great views of Marina Bay and a
picture-taking opportunity with The Merlion, Singapore's well-known
tourism icon, a mythological creature that is part lion and part fish.
The tour continues with a visit to the Thian Hock Keng Temple, one
of the oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples on the island, before driving past
Chinatown to a local handicraft centre.
From there we proceed to the National Orchid Garden, located within
the Singapore Botanic Gardens, which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000
orchid plants comprising of 400 species and more than 2,000 hybrids.
Our
final stop at Little India will entrance you with the scent of joss
sticks, jasmine and spices.

HALF-DAY SIGHTSEEING TOURS
NIGHT SAFARI
80% of the world’s animals are nocturnal. Discover the beautiful and
unusual wildlife in their natural jungle settings in one world’s first
Night Safari Park. Watch Cape Buffalo, African Bongo, Blue Sheep, Striped
Hyena, Golden Jackal, the Greater One Horned Rhinoceros and many others
roaming freely through the lush grounds of Singapore’s Night Safari.
Experience the 360-meter exhibit, home to the Egyptian Fruit Bats and the
World’s largest bats, the Malaya Flying Foxes. Take in the smell, sound
and the mysterious ambience of the night as you make new discoveries at
every turn. Tour includes a tram ride round the grounds – visit the
Himalayan foothills, to the Southeast Asian Rainforest and Indian
Subcontinent.

JOHORE BAHRU
Enjoy a visit to Johore Bahru, capital of State of Johore located at
southern end of the Malaysia Peninsula. You will experience a more relaxed
lifestyle that exists amidst a curious blend of historic and modern
architecture. A glimpse into the past as we make our first stop at the
Batik Handicraft Center to observe the delicate art of batik painting. Next
is a visit to The Royal Aby Bakar mosque, a splendid photo stop with its
majestic domes and minarets overlooking the Straits of Johore and finally
a visit to Kampong (village) house for a taste of rustic Malay lifestyle.

SENTOSA, ISLE OF TRANQUILITY
Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city to Sentosa – the resort
island of peace and tranquility. Take a scenic cable car ride to Sentosa
and catch a bird’s eye view of Singapore’s magnificent skyline and the
world’s busiest port.

EAST COAST AND CHANGI
The tour begins with a visit to the Malay Village, which showcases the
rich cultural heritage of the Malays and relives life in a Malay kampung
in the 50s and 60s. From here, you will drive passed Katong, a
predominantly Peranakan and Eurasian heartland in the eastern part of
Singapore. Proceed to Changi
Chapel & Museum to visit the museum and view a replica of the chapel,
which was used during World War II. Enroute, our guide recounts the
collective spirit which rose through the darkest times of the war. The
tour carries on with a drive through Changi Village giving you a chance to
see the relaxing side of Singapore. Finally a stop at Tampines New Town,
a typical heartland township of present day Singapore.

MORNING AT THE ZOO
Leave the city behind as you head north to Mandi, located by the serene
Seletar Reservoir for a morning of fun on this visit to the Singapore
Zoological Gardens. You arrive just in time to enjoy a "Wild Breakfast"
with special animal appearances such as shy gibbon, witty binturong, agile
spider monkey, the mischievous pig-tailed macaque and the elusive python.
28 hectares of secondary forest houses more than 2,000 animals, 80% of
which are endangered, most roam free, confined only by natural barriers of
water or shrubs take a tram ride around this "open" zoo, concept with its
beautifully landscaped gardens and very few cages.

SINGAPORE BY NIGHT
Enjoy
dinner by the
Singapore River. After dinner en-route to the World’s largest
fountain take in the beautiful sight of the central business district and
Singapore’s skyline by night via Benjamin Sheares Bridge. Continue to
Bugis Street and take a stroll along the night market. Your last stop of
the evening is at Raffles Hotel for a sample of Singapore’s very own
concoction, the Singapore Sling, – as the saying goes "if you have not
been to Raffles, you have not been to Singapore".
